BACKGROUND

I love live music.

After my first year of college, I moved to Los Angeles for a summer internship at Paradigm Talent Agency in their music department. Immersed in the music industry and Beverly Hills lifestyle, I frequently traveled back to the Bay Area to see friends and family. Meanwhile, my friend Maia, known as mxmtoon, was gearing up for her debut album, The Masquerade. We had previously worked together on her album cover and Spotify visualizers, which was a blast.

Throughout the summer, I stayed in touch with her East Coast-based manager, taking on production, transportation, and day-of logistics. I developed a knack for the preparation process. However, this next project was different and presented new challenges.

PROBLEM

We have one weekend

I received an email from Kirk.

"When are you back in SF? Would like to hold a couple more days with you if possible."

I shared the one weekend I had available.

“Sounds good – lets do it.”

Over the next few weeks, we planned the shoot. I quickly realized this project was unlike anything we had done before. The biggest challenge would be time management.
